General terms and conditions – Conferences


Applicability

These General terms and conditions for conference participation (the “Terms and Conditions”) apply for a number of companies within the business area Bonnier News (see list below) that arrange conferences. The Terms and Conditions shall apply between a registered participant (the “Customer”) and the company that arranges the conference the Customer has registered for (the “Organiser”).

These terms and Conditions comprises the following companies:

Dagens Industri Aktiebolag (reg no: 556221-8494).
Bonnier Business Media Sweden AB (reg no: 556468-8892) (“BBM”). BBM includes a number of brands that arrange conferences: Resumé, Dagens Media, Aktuell hållbarhet and Dagens Medicin.
Fastighetsnytt Förlags AB (reg no: 556326-8837). Fastighetsnytt includes Tidningen Byggindustrin and the brand Business Arena.
Dagens Samhälle AB (reg no: 556176-4613).
Hakon Media AB (reg no: 556923-9519).

By registering for a conference, the Customer confirms that he or she has read, understood, and undertakes to be bound by the Terms and Conditions and that he or she has received Organiser’s privacy policy.

Organiser’s undertaking and the purpose of the conference

Conferences which Organiser arranges are provided to the participants, including the Customer, in their capacity as traders or otherwise in respect of their profession.

Organiser’s conferences are sponsored by companies which operate in the relevant industry or are otherwise interested in the subject of the specific conference. Organiser’s undertaking comprises arranging conferences which are aimed at providing the Customer with a relevant and professional transfer of knowledge in the relevant subject matter area and creating a platform for a future relationship between the Customer and Organiser as well as between the Customer and involved event partners (such as co-organisers, sponsors, exhibitors) before, during, and/or after a completed conference. Organiser shall ensure that the relationship between the Customer, on the one hand, and Organiser and involved event partners, on the other hand, takes place via the means of contact/contact information provided by the Customer upon registration for a conference.

The conference’s subject, time, place, event partners, etc.

When the Customer registers, he or she selects the Organiser conference in which he or she chooses to participate. The conferences may either take place at a designated location or digitally, which is made clear upon registration for the conference. There is current information on Organiser’s website regarding the conference’s subject, speakers, times, location where it will be held, participating event partners, and so forth. Organiser reserves the right to make changes to the conference programme until the day on which the conference takes place.

Customer is aware that Organiser due to special circumstances may be required to carry out the conference digitally even though the conference initially was intened to take place at a designated location. In such event, Organiser shall inform the Customer in advance. 

Impediment to participation in a conference

The Customer’s registration for participation at Organiser’s conference is binding. The Customer may, however, assign the right to participate at a conference to another person, provided Organiser is notified thereof before the conference takes place. However, in order to be entitled to participate at the conference, such person must also personally confirm that he or she has read, understood, and undertakes to be bound by the Terms and Conditions, and confirm that he or she has received Organiser’s privacy policy.

Name badges

At conferences where the Customer participates on site, the Organiser may provide a name badge together with other participants name badges in order for the Customer to pick up its own name badge. In the event that the Customer does not want a name badge or that it becomes visible to other participants, please the Organiser know.

Images etc.

Organiser may use images or recorded material from the conference in which Customer appears in order to inform about Organiser’s upcoming events. By accepting these Terms and Conditions Customer hereby agrees to such use in accordance with The Act on Names and Pictures in Advertising (1978:800) (Sw: lag om namn och bild i reklam).

Processing of personal data

When Customer registers for a conference, Organiser will store and process Customer’s personal data, such as name, email-address, phone number, etc. Read more about how Organiser processes Customers’ personal data in Organiser’s privacy policy.

Conference evaluation

Evaluation of the conference is part of the conference. The evaluation is valuable in order for the Organiser to meet customers’ wishes and to be able to develop and improve the Organiser’s conferences. After the conference, the Organiser can therefore contact the Customer via email to ask if the Customer wants to evaluate the conference. Participation in the evaluation is of course completely voluntary. 

Force majeure

Organiser is entitled to cancel the conference if the carrying out of the conference is affected by an event beyond Organiser’s control, such as labour dispute, fire, acts of authorities, war, natural disaster or course leader’s sudden illness. Organiser is also entitled to cancel the conference if Organiser due to such event assesses that the carrying out of the conference may be of risk to humans’ life or health. 

Should Organiser cancel the conference due to any such event, you may either choose to participate in another conference for the same fee or choose to have the fee refunded. You will not be granted any compensation in excess of the refunding of the participation fee.
